When researching for a blog about the most affordable suburbs in the U.S., we stumbled upon statistics that surprised us: Across the nation, the most affordable places to live aren’t in big cities or coastal hubs but rather inland towns with small, cheap-to-maintain housing and lower cost of living.
It made sense, too — smaller communities are easier to get to from job centers and less expensive infrastructure means smaller utility bills. That being said, our research was limited to states that had publicly available data available online.
That meant some states were left out, which is why we decided to compile a list of some of the most affordable places in America where you can move if you’re looking for good old affordability at an affordable price.
